On an ultramarine blue shield 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in height and 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) in width a red number 11 outlined in white 3/4 inch (1.91 cm) in height above a winged white star, bendsinisterwise, 1 inch (2,54 cm) in diameter with a red disc in the center, wing golden yellow.
The winged star represents the Army Air Forces and the number 11 the unit designation.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 13 August 1943.
